Profils de troubles numériques et arithmétiques chez des patients atteints de démence de type Alzheimer

Abstract : Although calculation and number processing disorders are common in Alzheimer's patients, they have, so far, not received much attention from researchers. The purpose of this research is to evaluate four domains of numerical cognition in 49 Alzheimer's patients and in 86 controls with the recent French "ECAN" calculation assessment tool. Significant differences between patients and controls were observed. Moreover, Alzheimer's patients were found to perform more poorly in terms of scoring, and even worse in terms of response time. These results are a contribution to initiate the validation of this tool.
