Le don d'ovocytes : difficultés d'accès aux soins et de prise en charge pour les receveuses en France et enjeux du recours aux soins transfrontaliers

Abstract : Oocyte donation is an assisted reproductive technology that is not sufficiently available in France to cover the needs. This shortage drives couples to seek healthcare abroad in a phenomenon called "cross-border reproductive care" that involves financial, deontological and ethical issues. A survey was led on the Internet among the women who received an oocyte donation abroad. The results allowed us to assess the problems that these women have had accessing to healthcare in our country, but also if they had been satisfied by the treatments they received abroad. A European collaboration seems necessary to office clinical practices in the European countries. In France, the oocyte donation activity should be improved by the enhancement of information campaigns, the assignment of additional financial means and the appreciation of the donors altruism.
