Création de labels juments dans le cadre du programme d'élevage de la voie femelle Selle Français : conception et mise en place

Abstract : The performance of the Selle Français's selection scheme is based on both selection of sires and selection of mares. Even though international competition increases, the Stud Book Selle Français decided to give new visibility to the female genetic to highlight best SF and to encourage breeders to use young mares. In this way, 4 predicates have been set up: the predicats SPORT (which characterizes sports performance), the predicate POULINIÈRE (which characterizes the qualities of breeding), the predicate LIGNÉE MATERNELLE (which characterizes the value of the maternal lineage) and the predicate MODÈLE ET ALLURES (which characterizes model and gaits). Predicates depend on performance values (ISO, ICC and IDR) and model test values. Three levels were defined: "ÉLITE", "EXCELLENTE" et "TRÈS BONNE". The result of the first application of predicates during the National Championships of two and three-year-old females and foals is encouraging because more than three-quarters of breeders founds predicates interesting. A communication plan has been initiated: the aim is that predicates become in the future, an essential tool for the characterization of Selle Francais.
