Le congé parental face à la parité : un questionnement sur les facteurs de choix entre le père et la mère

Abstract : Objective. Today, the issue of male / female parity invested many areas, including the family. Even that new ways of being a father, with emerging "new fathers" use of parental leave remains particularly feminine. This study undertakes to analyze the various factors responsible for the predominantly female taking parental leave. Methods. A qualitative study, using semi-structured interviews, was set up in Yvelines and Hauts-de-Seine departments. They were conducted with couples in which one parent had recourse to parental leave for their last child. Results and conclusion. Achieving fourteen interviews helped to highlight that cultural, socio-economic and occupational factors are, in one way or another, responsible for the lack of parity between men / women in the use of parental leave. It also appears that fathers are less well informed of their right concerning parental leave.
