L'impact de la pratique théâtrale sur les relations au sein de la classe

Abstract : The presented study seeks to understand how theatre sequence implementation can improve class’s relations. Researches based on theories of popular education and Augusto Boal’s Theatre-Forum practice led to a 7 weeks theatre project implementation in a CE1 class. Several measuring tools have been used to gather information all along the project. This data base analysis reveals a positive impact of theatre on pupils-teacher relations. Now, the teacher is able to low the pitch of her voice and to get more authority, therefore work atmosphere is more peaceful. However, the most important impact is on pupil-pupil relations. Indeed, arguments and fights between them sharply decreased. Thanks to theatre practice, pupils seem to express themselves more easily and to respect other’s speeches. Moreover, this project enabled the creation of a common aim, improving class cohesion.
