Intérêt de la cohérence cardiaque dans la prise en charge des patients stressés au cabinet dentaire

Abstract : Background : The cardiac technique of coherence is founded on respiratory control with an aim of better managing its stress. Through this study, we analyse which population most anxious and is stressed with the dentist's surgery using the Index of Dental Anxiety and Fear and we develop an experimental protocol of biofeedback of cardiac coherence of management of the stress for the patients. Method : Four groups of patients are formed in this study, of which one which is formed during 4 meetings with the practice of cardiac coherence. We record using a sensor plethismographic and software Symbioline, the heart rate of the patients, in order to determine the stress of patients. Results : The patients having followed the formation spent more time in an at-rest state than the other groups and their heart rates approach those of the reference group. Conclusion : The method of cardiac coherence, nonintrusive and noninvasive can be regarded as an alternative to the sedative premedication.
