Rôle des parents dans le développement plurilingue de leurs enfants : cas d'enfants trilingues à Porto Rico

Abstract : This research aims to study the cases of trilingual (french, spanich and english) children in a multilingual context, Puerto Rico, and the role of their parents in the development of their language acquisition. Parents put into place a family language policy as well as some other actions in order to facilitate this language acquisition. But are those really enough in long term acquisition and development of the three languages in children? Aren’t those children the ones that ultimately decide what language they will use in which context? We will try to give some answers in basing our research on interviews of four trilingual families.
