Valorisation des bordures de chemins par semis de fleurs sauvages : résultats de deux ans d'expérimentations en plaine céréalière

Abstract : Field margins are an important part of semi-natural elements of cereal plains landscapes. These refuge areas for fauna and flora are sometimes deteriorated. An Agrifaune project, launched in 2012 by the Association Hommes et Territoires, test in a local scale field margins enhancement method: sowing wildflowers. The goals are to promote ecological and agronomic features by implementing a stable and diverse flora providing resources for pollinators. The results obtained after two years of experiments are encouraging. All sown modalities by different seed mixtures effectively cover the ground and limit the development of weeds. The study demonstrated that a mixture containing a limited number of species (approx. 10) could afford to respond positively to all the objectives.
