Perception de la parole dans le bruit et lien avec les compétences langagières chez les enfants de l’école élémentaire

Abstract : A Central Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) results from unexpected failures in the central auditory system. These disorders, as well as specific disorders of language development are studied in order to understand them better, clearly define their causes and consequences, and therefore, establish possible links between them. Our study, related with this work, focuses on APD elementary school children. Our objective is to know if speech‘s perception in noise has an impact on language skills development. We’ve done language tests and a perception of speech test in a noisy environment with school children from CE1 to CM2. Thus, we noticed correlations between language perception in noisy environment and the following language competences: in reading comprehension and uncommon and irregular word reading. The results showed that lower is the perception in noise, lower are the skills development. This study performed on APD children in schools, in connection with learning and classroom environments, will enable us to consider better pupils diversity in the future.
