Maladie de Lyme et médecine générale, une enquête de pratique sur un échantillon de 133 médecins généralistes volontaires installés en Haute-Savoie : état des lieux et mise en relation avec les recommandations de la conférence de consensus de 2006

Abstract : Introduction: This study focuses on preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic attitudes of general practitioners in Haute-Savoie in clinical situations related to Lyme disease ; in order to give an overview of practices and to compare them to the official recommendations of the anti-infective therapeutic consensus conference of December 2006. Methods: It is a declarative survey targeting a population of general practitioners in Haute-Savoie between April and July 2015, using an online, single choice questionnaire. There are 4 parts to the questionnaire: prevention, diagnosis, treatment and a final part on the characteristics of the respondents. Results: The analysis of the results from the 133 answers to the questionnaire shows an influence of the duration of installation and location of the practice. Respondents had practices adapted to recommendations for secondary prevention, even though two situations did not reach consensus. It also reveals non-consensual practices as for diagnosis, either in the primary or secondary phase, as well as the screening serology prescription. We find however that the therapeutic approach is adapted for the majority of respondents in case of typical primary phase and post-Lyme syndrome. Conclusion: information of general practitioners and support from specialists appear necessary in certain cases of diagnosis and for the therapeutic management of situations other than the typical rash.
