Le risque de tsunami sur le littoral azuréen : contribution méthodologique pour la détermination de sites refuges en cas de submersion marine par tsunami d’origine sismique

Abstract : From studies made around the seismic fault present in the Mediterranean off the coast of the Algeria and also in Liguria basin, researchers have highlighted the fact that the Côte d’Azur is not safe to face the risk of tsunami as the events of 1564, 1887 and 1979 evidenced. Although this risk is purely and simply present, the consequences of such a phenomenon affecting the French coast are however much less spectacular than the recent disasters that struck other regions of the world. Fifteen minutes would be the time laps to evacuate of beaches and walks before the arrival of the tsunami on the coasts. This time being reduced, it is important to ask the following question: How to handle this time in an efficient manner, so that everyone is safe at the arrival of the wave? The purpose of this master thesis is to create a methodology to define sites shelters on the continent that the population could use in the event of planned or spontaneous evacuation. We create a list of nine criteria in order to measure the quality of each sites shelter. Each criterion is be quantified and qualified by a note. With the notes added it is be possible to establish an index of quality which will define a hierarchized list of shelter sites. Finally, this study enables us to define a list of sites, distributed on three municipalities of the Alpes Maritimes, and classified by level of quality. This methodology can be integrated within the framework of the installation of spontaneous evacuation in the event of tsunami.
