Chloé, Infirme Moteur Cérébrale : la naissance d’une mère : intérêt de l’approche psychomotrice dans le suivi de grossesse de jeunes femmes atteintes d’Infirmité Motrice Cérébrale

Abstract : Having a handicap, following your own birth is what constitutes mainly the causes of Cerebral palsy. These individuals develop themselves through a disabled body without being considered either man or woman by others. They have started, more and more, to claim their sexuality and their desire to have children of their own. Throughout this year, I have had the chance to meet many women suffering from cerebral palsy. I followed and helped them in psychomotricity, during their pregnancy. But, how can we view the experience of a woman with cerebral palsy in her transmission of life ? What are the issues faced by that pregnancy from a body-mind point of vue ? Despite the happiness provided while waiting for a new born child, pregnancy can become complicated for these women, it can be overhandicapping. Through out his global approach, the psychomotrician will be able to anticipate and minimise the appearance of a surhandicap and therefore promote the premises of the mother’s relation with her future child.
