Évaluation de la réussite d'un ouvrage de protection de berge par des techniques de génie végétal et analyse des facteurs abiotiques conditionnant le développement de la végétation

Abstract : Following the construction of a hydroelectric dam, a redevelopment of Romanche banks using bioengineering techniques was carried out on Gavet site (France). The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the techniques employed (planting and seedling) and to analyse environment abiotic factors, that are likely to influence the development of planted or seeded vegetation and also this of vegetation coming from spotaneous recolonisation. To answer to these goals, surveys on woody vegetation (recovery rates and cuttings height) and also on herbaceous vegetation (point quadrat method on line transects) have been established. As regards the first purpose of evaluating bioenginnering success, plantings of woody species (cuttings, young plants, layering plants) was successful as they present a general recovery rate at more than 90%, one year after works. The results are more mitigated for the herbaceous species because of a recovering rate of soil surface (28%) and a composition of the seed mix (lack of Poaceae) which suggest a soil stabilization insufficient. Therefore, we showed that a light and humidity gradient in the study area, influences the developement of planted and seeded vegetation and also this of vegetation coming from natural recolonisation.
