Le travail de groupe : une méthode pédagogique favorisant les apprentissages ?

Abstract : We often talk about group work as a miraculous method which would allow all our students to improve but is it really true ? Thanks to our readings we manage to set out the framework of our study : how to set up the groups, how to organise the class, how to handle the pupils… The different authors also agree that, when pupils work in groups, they can gain knowledge and skills that they couldn’t have gained if they were working alone. The goal of our experiments will be to watch what kind of influence the group work has on the reinforcement of pupils’ knowledge and on the reinvestment of this knowledge in complex contexts. Group work is still rarely used in class, that’s why pupils aren’t used to being in this type of setting. Group work contributes a lot to student learning but in order to be efficient, we have to do it on a regular basis. We also must diversify activities and to do so, we have to continually reorganize the groups.
