Intérêt d'une unité de soins de longue durée sur la clinique mutualiste de Lesparre-Médoc : étude rétrospective descriptive sur des patients hospitalisés en 2014 au Service de soins de suite et de réadaptation

Abstract : The subject of this work focuses on a descriptive study of 264 hospitalized patients in 2014. These patients were hospitalized in the medical follow-up care and rehabilitation unit in the Mutualist Clinic of the Medoc weakened in the medical and paramedical point of view, and geographically isolated: “lands end”. The main aim is to demonstrate the real need of creating a long-term care unit in order to avoid recurrent problems when the more and more dependent, poly-pathologic, isolated and poly-medicated patients came back home. The analyze of the results plus the discussion of our report allow to find solution for the future permitting the improvement of the quality of the care within the clinic, allowing also the patient care of older patients. The solution proposed by the Mutualist Clinic and explicates here, is to enlarge the geriatric network of the clinic by creating a long-term care unit.
