Le Médoc garbage project

Abstract : The evolution of the consumer mode, of the methods of production and the eating habits in the US and later in Europe has led to as waste explosion. The entire world copied and is still following these practises. For a long time the waste production was perceived as a suffered fact that was difficult to have influence over. The renewal of interest for the waste issue is an mutidisciplinary approach. Beyond the waste engineering process, it refers to the social relationships which poduce those refuses. That complex item is the mirror of a society. His concept is an ambivalent one insofar as it can cause disgust and admiration, asto be scrap and ressources. Waste can be dangerous for some, an economic opportunity for others and otherwise, it can also reflect an esthetic image. Int the 70's artists from the "New Realists" movement questioned the evolution of the consumerism way of life in our societies by collecting scraps. This thesis here proposes that we can use artistic, anthropological, photographic, and sociological experiences - and more- for inspiration, that we can cross them and experiment with an analytical method. The point is to question how the dissection of garbage can become a plea of teritorial analysis.
