Suture des lésions périnéales : enquête sur la formation initiale des sages-femmes

Abstract : Introduction : The practice of suturing is part of midwife's skills. The evolution of clinical practices and the reorganization of midwives training led to new teaching methods. Objectives : To identify pedagogical methods that are used to teach perineal repair in midwives school. To assess the midwives' satisfactionwith initial training and their of competence in suturing. Methods : A national quantitative prospective multicenter study was conducted from the 12th of July to the 28th of December . An questionnaire was sent to all midwives, who has been graduate in 2016. Results : 52,7% of midwives noted the existence of gaps in the theoretical suture teaching, the number of hours of lectures and TP sessions was considered insufficient by 15,1% of midwives, the perineal modeles used are inadequate for 12,8 % of midwives. Clinical formation is satisfying for 58,6% of midwives. But the practice of episiotomy repair is insufficient for 15,1% of midwives. The average of the feeling of competence for suturing is 6,6/10 (} 2,2). Conclusion : Recovered teaching strategies obey both behaviorist and socio-constructivist concepts. Outlook : Proposal of a training model taking into consideration the needs of students, the evolution of professional practices and the methods of modern pedagogy.
