Impact de la mise en place d'un conseil de coopération sur le climat social de classe

Abstract : The purpose of the study is to evaluate the social effects of establishing a cooperation council in the class, and more specifically on how it impacted conflicts between pupils and their general respect for classroom rules. The experiment was carried out over four-month period in a CM1 classroom and weekly council meetings were accompanied by questionnaires to collect the data needed for the study. Though analysis of this data indicates that the introduction of counseling did not improve the social climate of the class, the conditions for conducting the study likely had a strong impact on the results. Increasing the time period of the experiment, involving the entire education team on an institutional level and the implementation of complementary tools could better encourage teachers and pupil to use the cooperation council with increased benefits on the classroom social environment.
