Apport des silicates de calcium en endodontie

Abstract : According to Schilder, the success of endodontic treatment depends on the respect of the triad: cleaning, shaping, filling. Today, gutta-percha is the most widely used filling material. Non-irritating and non-resorbable, it must be associated with a sealer to allow a hermetic and three-dimensional filling. In perpetual research for an ideal root canal sealer, calcium silicate-based sealers have recently appeared in endodontics. Scientific literature allows to define the advantages and disadvantages of these new sealers and present the therapeutic situations in which they can be used. The first part will present reminders about bioceramics in endodontics. The second part will detail biological and physico-chemical properties of new calcium silicate-based sealers. Finally, the third part will address various indications in which these sealers can be used.
