Prise en charge des agénésies dentaires multiples chez l'enfant

Abstract : Multiples agenesis are rare diseases with varied etiologies. Most times they are from genetic origin: they can be either isolated or part of a polymalformative syndrom like the most common one the ectodermal dysplasia. A full clinical diagnosis must be realized, from the youngest age of the patient, to hightlight the physiological, esthetical and psychological consequences of the disease. It will allow drawing up an adequate and adjustable treatment plan during the child’s growth. Therapeutic decisions require a multidisciplinary collaboration. Reference centers for rare diseases have been set up to help accompany these young patients for diagnosis and orientation. The care is often a long and complicated process. The several conservative, prothetic, orthodontic and implant therapies having gained the child’s trust and the support and involvement of his close relatives.
