Les oligonucléotides antisens en thérapie : cas du Kynamro©

Abstract : When a gene is known to be responsible for a disease, it is possible to synthesize a strand of nucleic acid, an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO), complementary to the messenger RNA (mRNA ) to inactivate. ASO is a single-stranded nucleic acid or nucleic acid analog, 15 to 20 nucleotides in length with a sequence complementary to a target nucleotide sequence, which is an mRNA in the case of Kynamro® (INN : mipomersen). The example of Kynamro© for the treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia, gives an accurate overview of the issues and problems of these new therapies.
