La formation initiale des chirurgiens dentistes en Europe : comparaison à travers l’analyse des modèles espagnol, finlandais et français

Abstract : This thesis deals with the analysis and comparison of the initial training of European dental surgeons through the study of the curricula of three distinct countries: France, Spain and Finland. To achieve this, a study was undertaken of the socio-economic context of each country and the content of the initial training was analysed. Thus, the theoretical and practical content of the four universities: Rennes in France, Turku in Finland and two universities in Madrid; Universidad Complutense and Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, which are respectively public and private, were analysed and compared. This analysis highlights points of convergence in the content and structure of curricula, notably the theory and preclinical learning, although there are disparities in hourly volumes. However, points of divergence persist concerning the status of educational structures, the cost of training, the functionality of health centres and specialties. In particular, this study highlights the interaction between a socio-economic context and the teaching approach. It highlights the consequences and profound changes brought about by a deregulated educational system combined with disproportionate professional demographics on the practice of dental surgeons.
