La méthode de Singapour facilite-t-elle une meilleure compréhension en mathématiques au CP ? Comparaison entre la méthode de Singapour et la méthode présente dans dans le manuel CapMaths

Abstract : French pupils are in the public eye. Their results in mathematics according to the TIMSS study are not conclusive and France is the last of the European countries. A sudden enthusiasm for the method from the city-state of Singapore is slowly emerging in the European states, and France is not to be spared. A textbook adapting this method to the system of our country is starting to appear for early primary school levels, aiming to improve the level of our pupils. This research paper will deal with the following question : "Do Singapore maths facilitate a better understanding of mathematics in first grade ?". To do so, the analysis of an image and solving different problematic situations were presented to two first grade classes, in order to compare the results from pupils studying with Singapore maths and others with the CapMaths textbook. Through theoretical contribution and thanks to the results obtained, this study will try to find if this method provided a better understanding to the pupils who used it.
