Les « experts » de la banlieue. Le rap français à la télévision pendant les « émeutes des banlieues » de 2005 en France

Abstract : The time of the "riots of the suburbs" of 2005 in France, is it a singular time in the history of media coverage of French rap on television? Through an Inathèque corpus of French television talk shows since the first steps of rap in this television genre (1987) until 2006, we try to study the various processes at work in the (very-media) "riots suburbs" 2005. We therefore propose to study the evolution of the image of rap television, the application of the devices of speech in the media process of rap, and finally the central place occupied by the suburbs as a psycho-geographical space in this mediatization. These three axes allow us to tackle the singularity of the time of the "riots of the suburbs" of 2005, in the light of the tensions and the continuities in the long time of the history of the mediatization of rap. This story is that of the construction of the media status of rapper "expert of the suburbs".
