Rôle antibactérien des fibroblastes pulpaires : implication du complément

Abstract : Complement system plays a major role in the initiation of the inflammation. Recent studies have demonstrated the secretion of all Complement molecules by pulp fibroblasts and its implication in local control of pulp inflammation. This work was designed to investigate the role of the Complement protein C3b, secreted by pulp fibroblasts under pulp inflammation after bacterial infection. C3b is an opsonin able to fix on bacteria and increase their phagocytosis by macrophages. The pulp defence system, Complement and phagocytose are explained in the first part. The second part details the materials and methods used in the experimental work and the obtained results are presented in the third part. Finally, in the fourth part data are explained in the clinical perspectives that this knowledge opens in the management of irreversible pulpitis.
