La phytothérapie et l’aromathérapie dans le cursus officinal : diversifier les méthodes d’apprentissage pour mieux former

Abstract : The use of CM is increasing, and time has come for the overall care of the patient, which includes their health behaviors. In this context, we wondered about the place of phytotherapy and aromatherapy teaching in future pharmacists' curriculum. By conducting two studies, the first qualitative one involving 30 persons in 4 separate focus groups, and the second quantitative one involving 1467 questionnaires, we were able to show that these teachings were necessary. Indeed, on the patient side, the use of these products has been shown, associated with a qualified health professional intervention need for their safety. The pharmacist seems to be a valid interlocutor for them to answer their questions. For the pharmacists and students who answered, we were able to highlight an interest in these subjects, and we believe that these teachings can help develop among students' reflections on ethics and the management of patient unmet health needs. These studies also made us able to propose a set of specifications for a training that would meet the requirements of professionalism towards patients, and students' aspirations as to their way of proceeding. To picture it, we proposed two fictive practical cases taken from the exploitation of focus groups. This type of case could be exploited to allow this work to come to life in a concrete way, for example, by adding other more integrative projects such as Profiterolles.
