Le corse et le Chinuk Wawa : étude comparative de deux langues en situation de revitalisation et des représentations de leurs locuteurs

Abstract : Endangered languages studies have evolved a lot in the past years and currently include a more critical approach. This master’s thesis looks at speakers’ perception of their language’s revitalization, and more specifically it studies the impact of state participation. Two situations are examined : on one hand Chinuk Wawa, a native north American language, on the other hand Corsican, regional language of France. Based on those situations, we study the different language policy at work on the local, regional and national level. The methodology relies on surveys, sent to both language communities, in order to gather data about their perception.
