Les ateliers philosophiques au service de l’éducation à la sexualité en cycle 1

Abstract : School’s mission is educating pupils from a very young age on many subjects in order to prepare them for adult and citizen life. Sexuality education written in programs and in law is an essential challenge in health promotion. Pupils even in nursery school have a lot of questions about sexuality. We wondered how sexuality education could allow pupils of nursery school to work on health and citizenship. Through philosophy workshops in class on the theme of friendship, love, differences between girls and boys, respect, we observed the development of skills about citizenship, philosophy and health for children of 5 years old. The involvement of children was surprising. During the workshops, their behaviors evolved positively and many skills were developed. This project mobilized partnerships for the support of children to be optimal. In conclusion, we observed a construction of appropriated answers by pupils, a cooling down of relationships between us, a better atmosphere in class.
