Éléments de diagnostic face à une tumeur non épithéliale de la muqueuse palatine

Abstract : The diagnosis of an oral tumor, and in particular oral cancer, must be a priority for all health professionals. If 90 to 95% of cancers are oral squamous cell carcinoma, the remaining contingent consists of non-epithelial tumors. Their diagnosis is usually more difficult because only the swelling directs the examiner who is observing a normal epithelium. The main objective of this work was to analyze the diagnostic imaging and anatomocytopathological methods used to reach the diagnosis. A second objective was to make a list as exhaustive as possible of the various palatal tumors to present the main clinical and radiological characteristics in order to highlight the specific elements. In view of the resemblance of these different palatal tumors, it is difficult to identify clear elements guiding the diagnosis and allowing the clinician to distinguish between a benign and malignant tumor before the histological examination.
