Présence de résidus humains dans les eaux en France

Abstract : The presence of drug residues in the water is a question of ecotoxicology very present in recent decades. Improved methods of sampling and analysis have made it possible to highlight this contamination in water within all the compartments of the aquatic environment and this all over the territory. Many projects have been carried out to increase knowledge on the state of water resources in France. The development of wastewater treatment processes allows an increase in the elimination of drug residues however without completely eliminating them from the resource. The environmental and health risk assessment of the presence of drug residues in water is developed by studying various pharmacological classes such as antibiotics, anticancer drugs and estrogen drugs. Many actions to manage and reduce this contamination are possible especially in the management of unused drugs. A collaboration of all participants in the life cycle of the drug (industrialists, health authorities, prescribers, pharmacists and patients) and water management organizations is necessary to allow a good management of the presence of drug residues in French water.
