Accompagnement à l’officine des femmes ayant subi une mastectomie vers la reconstruction de leur nouveau corps

Abstract : Breast cancer is both the most common and deadliest cancer diagnosed in women. The surgery to remove breast cancer can lead to a mastectomy - a removal of the entire breast that can have physical and psychological impact on the patient. Indeed, the women is suddenly amputated of a part of herself and finds her sexual identity affected since the surgery involve the loss of the breast, symbol of femininity and motherhood. Through his accessibility, the pharmacist is an essential actor in this process of "reconstruction" and "re-appropriation" of the body. His role is to support, inform, prevent and guide the patient towards the appropriate choice of an external breast prosthesis.
