Prise en charge des patients cirrhotiques présentant une infection du liquide d'ascite

Abstract : Cirrhosis is an irreversible and diffuse condition of the liver characterized by fibrosis thus impairing liver functions. Ascites is the most common complication and is refractory in the event of failure to respond to diuretic drug therapy. We will deal primarily with the causal pathology (alcohol, hepatitis, ...). As soon as ascites appears, a low sodium diet and diuretics will be put in place. In case of failure, we perform large volume paracentesis or we put an alfapump. Finally, you can ask a TIPS or perform a liver transplant under certain conditions. As a last resort, palliative care will be put in place. The occurrence of an infection in cirrhotic patients is frequent and has a poor prognosis. It will usually be treated with a first-generation cephalosporin and albumin to preserve the kidneys. Prophylaxis is administered according to certain criteria.
