Évaluation rétrospective sur l’utilisation du docétaxel chez les patients traités pour un cancer du sein en adjuvant au centre François Baclesse en 2016

Abstract : Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the female population, it represents about 60 000 new cases per year in France for approximately 12 000 deaths. It’s the cancer leading to the most deaths in women despite earlier care and more effective treatments. However, health authorities have reported deaths from neutropenic enterocolitis following the use of docetaxel in adjuvant chemotherapy. These deaths prompted the authorities to suspend the use of docetaxel in this indication in 2017, as long as a pharmacovigilance investigation was conducted. A retrospective evaluation was carried out on patients who received a docetaxel injection in 2016 as a treatment for early-stage breast cancer in an adjuvant situation, in order to make an inventory of its use at François Baclesse Center. The study results reinforce the conclusions of the pharmacovigilance study on the precautions for the use of docetaxel, especially with the use of growth factor.
