Évaluation par les médecins généralistes nouvellement installés en Dordogne de l’impact des mesures incitatives et initiatives locales sur leur lieu d’installation

Abstract : Introduction: the Dordogne is a department particularly affected by medical desertification. There are few studies of the measures taken to attract doctors to underserved areas such as Dordogne. Methods: gather the opinion of general practitioner’s newly settled in Dordogne on the means implemented to increase the attractiveness of this department. Results: 53 out of 81 physicians responded (65%). The completion of an internship in general medicine in Dordogne is the data that was judged to have the greatest impact on the installation. The measures judged positively are the ZRR (49% positive impact) and the associative aids (47% positive impact). It seems that doctors with a foreign degree are more sensitive to the help of local authorities. Discussion: the attractiveness of a territory is multifactorial and no aid alone can influence a choice of installation in a given region. The financial measures seem to have little impact on the attractiveness of a territory except for the “ZRR”. It seems necessary to prioritize ambulatory training in under-equipped areas through the recruitment of university training supervisors. The grouping of professionals also seems a way to explore. Finally, it appears that local authorities have an important role to play.
