Influence des cosmétiques : pratiques et connaissances des femmes enceintes concernant les produits cosmétiques

Abstract : Objective: The objective of this study is to learn about pregnant women’s cosmetology practices and to understand the factors that encourage them to modify their practices. It also provided an opportunity to assess their knowledge. Methods: A quantitative investigation has been carried out in the hospital : André Mignot-Le Chesnay at Versailles to tackle this survey. It consisted of a questionnaire about practices, knowledge and information pertaining to the study. It was distributed anonymously to 168 women over the course of five weeks (from October 2018 to December 2018). The data has been thoroughly reviewed and analyzed. Results and conclusion: This study has shown thatapproximately half of pregnant women change their cosmetic use practices. The main factor motivating women to change their habits is the participation in birth and parenting preparation sessions. They are aware that when using cosmetic products, there is a risk to the fetus during pregnancy. This study allowed us to explain in part the behaviour of women regarding cosmetics during pregnancy.
