Abstract : Drug prescription is very common and can be subject to consequences, especially for elderly people who often have prescriptions with many drugs. This exposes them to the risk of drug interactions between two molecules interfering with each other. Therefore we decided to conduct this cross-sectional observational study between september 1, 2016 and august 31, 2017 to determine the prevalence of level 3 and 4 drug interactions in subjects aged 75 and over admitted to the Bordeaux emergency departement. On the large sample of 5059 patients admitted with a prescription containing two or more drugs, we found a high prevalence of 7,4%, wich is a little more than one prescription a day, and pushes us to reflect on the direct role of emergency physician. This result also makes us aware of a more reasoned prescription, particularly as a general practitian. It will also be interesting to find out later the reasons why these patients gone to emergencies to know if they are related to drug interactions found on their prescriptions.
