Évaluation de l’efficacité de l’érosion-infiltration sur les taches blanches

Abstract : Nowadays, hypomineralization is responsible for one of the most common dental defects: white spots. Following a growing aesthetics demands from patients, different techniques have been implemented in the dental office such as crowns/veneers, composite resin restoration treatments, micro-abrasion, bleaching, remineralising agents, but also the erosion-infiltration technique. The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of Icon® DMG superficial erosion-infiltration in the disappearance of white spots of various etiological origins with a follow-up ranging from 6 to 18 months. Four patients with white spots in the aesthetic area were selected. The erosion-infiltration technique was set up following the manufacturer's instructions. Later, examinations were carried out 6 to 18 months later according to the patients. All treated stains showed a marked improvement. Its protocol is simple and fast to execute with an immediate result and stable over time. The decline we have for the moment is certainly not very big, but aging and holding seem very promising. But since the defect is deep, this technique is of limited interest and must be associated with another more invasive therapy (micro- or macro-abrasion).
