Interventions efficaces chez les jeunes de 18 à 30 ans dans l'arrêt du tabac : revue systématique de la littérature

Abstract : Introduction: despite the decline of tobacco smoking among adults aged 18 to 30 since 2017, France remains the 3rd European country in terms of tobacco consumption. Many health campaigns and national actions have been led to reduce this consumption, but few aimed young adults aged 18 to 30. Our objective was to describe the interventions in the literature which are effective to quit tobacco smoking, in adults aged 18 - 30 years. Methods: systematic review using different platforms and databases: Cochrane, EM-Premium, Lissa, PubMed and Sciences Direct. Results: sixteen articles were selected and analyzed for this work, most of them reported studies made in the United States. Effectiveness was assessed at 1, 3, 4, 6, 12 months or 30 weeks; many of these studies have been done in college students. The majority of the interventions were complex, combining actions carried out on websites, sending of text messages or emails, the use of smartphone applications, the use of health professionals in interviews or self-support booklets. Only one study was led with drug treatments (transdermal patches of nicotine). Discussion and conclusion: there was a moderate evidence of effective interventions in smoking cessation, and those varied in their combinations. However, studies are few and their generalization to a French context is not easy.
