Les troubles de l’oralité alimentaire chez l’enfant au développement normo-typique et chez l’enfant autiste. Apports de la prise en charge pluridisciplinaire en groupe, selon l’approche sensori-motrice d’A.Bullinger

Abstract : Introduction. Feeding disorders are frequent in young children They can be isolated or as part of a global pathology. They are source of malnutrition and are a major concern for parents. The aim of this retrospective and descriptive study was to assess feeding behaviour and course of body weight changes in children being treated by therapeutic pluridisciplinary group based on ABullinger’s approach. Material and methods. 10 patients were recruited.among children attending the Paris VI pedo-psychiatry department being treated between April 2013 and April 2019 in a feeding disorders rehabilitation center. They were divided into two study groups : 5 children in the Amuse Bouche (AB) group : ambulatory follow-up for “normo-typic” development children and 5 children in the Croque en Bouche (CB) group, presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Feeding behaviour changes, based on an oralisation score created for this study, and BMI course, based on WHO standards, were analysed. Results. 9 out of 10 children had a feeding behaviour improvement profile: gain greater than or equal to 3 in the oralisation score. At the end of the follow up, 80% of children are in the BMI normal zone, versus 60% at the beginning. Although the final average score is higher in the AB group, the average points gain is higher in the CB group. Conclusion. The feeding behaviour improved for 90% of the children with feeding disorders, isolated or as part of a more global pathology such as ASD.
