Place de la thérapie cognitive basée sur la pleine conscience dans la dépression unipolaire. Une revue non-exhaustive de la littérature

Abstract : The Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a program combining the practice of meditation and the cognitive behaviour therapy developed in the 2000s. The objective of this literature review is to present the current state of knowledge on the use of MBCT to treat major depressive episode, residual depressive symptoms, and to prevent depressive relapse and recurrence, and suicidal behaviours. Thirty three articles published between January 2020 and April 2019 have been selected through the consultation of international literature databases Pubmed, PsychInfo et Cochrane. Literature review findings suggests that the use of MBCT shows effectiveness in preventing depressive relapse recurrence in patients with at least 3 past depressive episodes in their history. International recommendations based on clinical studies and meta-analyses demonstrate robust findings and encourages this use of MBCT. A smaller number of weak designed studies validates MBCT effectiveness in treating major depressive episode. International recommendations encourage the use of MBCT in treating major depressive episode, while these remain low-evidence based. Findings show that the MBCT would be at least as effective as the depression usual treatment and as effective as some psychotherapy types in treating residual depressive symptoms. However, the small number of current studies about the MBCT effectiveness in treating chronic forms of depression and suicidal behaviours, and the studies heterogeneous results do not allow to draw conclusions about the MBCT effectiveness. Additional studies will be necessary to further research these questions.
