La sexualité du couple après la naissance d'un enfant : quel accompagnement?

Abstract : Introduction : Postpartum sexuality is often a source of concern for the couple. However, many health professionals find themselves in difficulty with this subject and rarely discuss sexuality with the couple. Objective : To study the different problems encountered by couples following the birth of a child and determine their support needs during this period. Adapt sexual health care and develop interprofessional collaboration around this topic. Method : A descriptive and interpretative qualitative study was conducted based on semi-structured interviews with 10 sexology professionals from various initial training backgrounds. Results and Discussion : The topics discussed by sexologists focused on the couple's sexuality in general and more specifically around birth. Sexologists discussed the impact of the birth of a child on the couple's sexuality and their needs in terms of support. They also reflect the difficulties encountered by professionals and the role of the midwife in sexual health prevention. Conclusion : Consideration of sexual health within the management of a person's overall health seems essential. In order to meet the needs of couples, it seems important that professionals trivialize sexuality by addressing it systematically.
