Évaluation du handicap vocal chez les adultes atteints de mucoviscidose : état des lieux

Abstract : The objective of this study is to determine whether adults with cystic fibrosis experience discomfort with their voice, and to relate this vocal experience to different notions such as the time of use of the voice, leisure activities, etc. To achieve this goal, we conducted a survey concerning a group of adults with cystic fibrosis, using the VHI self-administered questionnaire and additional questions. Overall in our study, the VHI scores indicate low vocal discomfort experienced by the participants. When this VHI score was qualified by participant observations, it was found that the level of discomfort was significantly higher than that indicated by the VHI. This study leads us to reflect on the need for voice prevention for these people at risk of developing voice disorders.
