Le bien-être à l'école : Cohérence cardiaque et relations socio affectives

Abstract : A lot of teachers and university lecturers are interested in classroom climate. Children are social beings in full development, that is why the quality of the relationships within a classroom is a crucial question. A pacified classroom climate contributes to the well-being of the pupils and allows an improved living-together, a new subject of interest for the National Education. Because of its positive effect on stress management and on the increase of attachment bonds, cardiac coherence can be used as a tool in favour of the classroom relational climate. A testing has therefore been organised so as to determine the potential effects of a daily collective practice of cardiac coherence followed by an exchange on perceptions and emotions, on the relational qualities within the classes. It has been carried out with 2 first-grade classes during 5 weeks. This breathing practice results in an overall improvement of the social climate within the classroom.
