Cirque, psychomotricité et enfants placés : « dans quelle mesure la médiation cirque pourrait-elle présenter un bénéfice à l’accompagnement des enfants placés ? »

Abstract : Starting from the premise that practising (the) circus arts is a deeply psychomotor activity and one of great diversity, this dissertation offers a way to look at the discipline as a care tool. It questions what makes it a «plural» mediation : that is to say, a mediation of high symbolic value that gives the possibility to work on different levels : beyond physical practice, around the circus world, its imagination and its numerous mental images everyone can have of it. More specifically, the reflection leans towards the benefit of the circus arts used as a mediation for the advantage of children in foster care. Children who lack anchorage and for whom the stigmas of an insecure and deficient environment often persist in their personal history. In their vulnerability, the circus arts open the way for an encounter through psychomotor and symbolic experiences that can become the source for structuring work, participating in a reconstruction process.
