Femme et cinéma pendant la Transition espagnole

Abstract : The cinema of the Spanish Transition was a rich witness of the Spanish society of the moment, which was beginning to free itself from the ancient dictates of Francoism. This work is focused in an analysis of the films where the figures of the woman or femininity were the most representatives. The objective of this mémoire is to study the relationship between cinema and women in the period from 1973 to 1982. The problem is therefore: how much cinema reflects changes and the dialogue between cinema and society in relation to the image of women and femininity. Throughout this research work, we will be inspired by the analysis and criticism of author Amanda Castro and the research of Leslie Broyle and Anette Kuhn. We conclude from these analyses that the end of Francoism does not imply a definitive change, but that they allow new representations of women and femininity, as well as of women's sexuality.
