Éradication du virus de l’hépatite C en France à l’horizon 2025 : place du pharmacien d’officine

Abstract : Hepatitis C virus has been the subject of intensive research since its discovery in 1989. This mobilization has led to the emergence of drugs breaking with previous treatments. Today, eradication of hepatitis C is made possible in France by 2025. The purpose of this thesis is to highlight the singularity of this pathology in various aspects, in particular its ability to infect very broad population categories, from pregnant women transfused to injecting drug users. It is also a question of putting into perspective the objective of eradication by 2025 with problems which could hinder it: screening of target populations, access to care, prevention of infections and re-infections. Finally, the idea is to question the role of the pharmacist and the important place occupied in the medical care for these patients. The bias of this thesis is to place as a “clinical pharmacist” able to get involved in public health problems. It is one of the rare players in health to be able to reach a large population, out of health care system. Does this privileged position not allow it to pretend to play a role in screening, therapeutic monitoring and prevention of hepatitis C? A reflection is made in this sense within this thesis.
