Les probiotiques pour la beauté de la peau : développement d’un complément alimentaire destiné au marché français

Abstract : Probiotics are microorganisms whose benefits on human health are increasingly studied. One of the new interest of the scientific community is the link between probiotics, administered orally, and skin health. Today, most skin problems are solved by applying cosmetics. However, food supplements can represent an innovative solution, which can act in synergy with these topical products. As a matter of fact, the use of food supplements with probiotics is being increasingly adopted, demonstrated by the booming growth of this market segment. Therefore, developing a new food supplement product containing probiotics, focused in providing skin health benefits, could be an innovative way of joining these two elements and leveraging this growing trend. In this thesis, the first part reviews the history and regulations applied to probiotics in food supplements. The second part presents a bibliographic search in the scientific literature to determine the target population and the types of skin (acne-prone, atopic, sensitive, dry and mature) for which oral probiotics have demonstrated a beneficial effect. The third and final part describes the different stages in the development of a new probiotic food supplement intended for the French market.
