« Parler des langues des familles à l'école, ce que disent les enfants » : réalisation d'un film de sensibilisation

Abstract : This developmental research provides a definition of the specifications for the design and production of a film that will make teachers aware of the necessity to take into account the multilingualism of children in primary schools across metropolitan France today. The analysis of available documentation and the observation of parents’ meetings, teachers’ meetings and Freinet kindergarten and elementary class activities have made it possible to define the target audience for the film, to select the sociolinguistic themes for broader audiences and to highlight language awareness approaches.
The film produced gives voice to children, from 3 to 10 years old, who share with us their enthusiasm of their discoveries of the group's languages. Teachers and parents are encouraged to engage with the class to speak about their languages at school.
