Caractérisation de l’adaptation aux sols chlorosants des porte-greffes de vigne

Abstract : The chlorosis is an iron deficiency induced by limestone soils, hard to cure and that has been studied a lot during the history of grapevine sciences. Several factors can influence this tolerance and the choice of the rootstock seems to be the most important behind the choice of the soil, having the additional advantage not to be restricted in space. The goal of this experiment is to seek to phenotype or characterize the chlorosis tolerance of some rootstocks in limestone soil, then to find in some rootstocks from abroad or poorly characterized interesting chlorosis tolerance. To reach this goal, a range of 52 rootstocks has been grafted with Pinot noir and cultivated in pots for 2 years, with 2 soil modalities : "controlled" and "limestone". Growth, chlorophylle, stocks and visual symptoms have been measured. Those variables seem to characterized with more details the plants tolerances and allow to withhold some rootstocks from abroad as Georgikon121, 57R and M2, as well as BC2 that has never been characterized in previous ranking. These results allow also to confirm the relative efficiency of such an experiment in order to characterize simultaneously several rootstocks in controlled conditions for their tolerance and fine-tune the rankings and potential thresholds in the future.
