Étude qualitative des critères de retour au sport utilisés par les masseurs kinésithérapeutes diplômés lors des prises en charge de patients après reconstruction du ligament croisé antérieur

Abstract : After anterior cruciate ligament surgery, not all athletes succeed in resuming their sport and less of them reach their former sporting level. Assessing the patient's ability to resume sport is an effective way to promote the return to the same level of sport. Physiotherapists are among the professionals qualified to validate this aptitude. Method: The objective of this qualitative study was to understand how physiotherapists validate a patient’s return to sport after an anterior cruciate ligament surgery. In order to answer this question, a survey by semi-directive focused interviews was carried out among the population concerned. Results : a total of eight interviews were analyzed. The decision to return to play was in most cases taken by the physiotherapists alone. So, they use a panel of subjective and objective criteria in order to evaluate the capacities of their patients to return to their sport. Discussion : a large number of criteria were reported but their use’s modalities vary from one physiotherapist to another. It would seem interesting to have a systematic use of this process at this stage of return to sport so that all physiotherapists will evaluate their patients identically.
